As the facilitator of our recent Judaic Cannabis Ceremony, I am filled with gratitude and awe at the profound experiences shared during this unique event. Our intention was to blend ancient Jewish traditions with the powerful spiritual properties of cannabis, and the results were truly transformative.
The ceremony began with a deep sense of reverence as we gathered in a sacred, candlelit space.
Each participant brought their intentions and shared stories of their connection to cannabis and spirituality, creating a collective energy that set the tone for the evening. Our meditative breathing exercises helped everyone center themselves, preparing us for the journey ahead.
One of the evening's most memorable moments occurred during the hotboxing ritual. Despite my detailed explanations, many attendees were surprised and amused when they realized I wasn't handing out cannabis joints, but instead using the all-consuming smoke from frankincense and cannabis at the altar. This unexpected twist led to a wave of laughter, breaking the ice and bringing everyone closer together. The fragrant, sacred smoke filled the room, creating an atmosphere ripe for spiritual connection and introspection.
Our readings and mantras invited deep reflection and discussion. We read a passage from one of Nydia GanjaClergy's Cannabis books which placed Asherah back next to Yahweh, a reading which resonated with many, sparking meaningful conversations about their personal understandings and revelations. The chanting of chakra empowering mantras added a rhythmic and meditative layer, enhancing the sense of unity and purpose. throughout the smoke filled room as our eyes watered and folks began giggling.
The evening's climax was a phenomenal feast, skillfully prepared by two outstanding chefs from our community: Chef B from Sisters on a Roll and Chef Brooke from Goodie Grams. Their culinary creations not only nourished our bodies but also celebrated our shared heritage and connection. The communal meal was a time of joyous conversation and deepening bonds, with gratitude expressed for the delicious food and the talented chefs who provided it.
We also owe a special thanks to Azmera, who generously donated a "there in spirit" ticket, allowing us to feel her presence and support throughout the ceremony. Her contribution was a beautiful reminder of the interconnectedness and community spirit that underpinned our gathering.
As we concluded the ceremony, each participant shared their reflections and insights. The collective sense of gratitude, reverence, and connection was palpable. The sacred space, the rituals, the smoke, and the food all contributed to an evening that was both grounding and elevating, offering a profound understanding of Jewish heritage and spiritual enrichment.
Thank you to everyone who participated, assisted, and supported this sacred journey. Your presence and contributions made this an unforgettable experience, and I look forward to many more ceremonies where we can continue to explore and honor our spiritual paths together.
With deep gratitude and blessings,
