Talking to Your Family About Cannab!s, I mean…Terpenes

Updated: Jun 3, 2023

We began cannabis conversations in our home because I consume as a medical patient and commune with the plant as a sacrament. I remember friends telling me stories about liking the smell when they were young, and I didn't know how my son felt about it, so I asked.

I straight up had the conversation about the smell, whether he liked it. I know some children that don't. It's like sage, precisely like it.

“Several months later, we germinated our first seeds and then discovered the fresh aromas that emanate directly from the plants with or without flowering. Between that and the golf leaf terpene poster hanging in my dining room at the time, we learned them to the point that my son dr3ew a picture of the terpene names and companion plants, and our brand was born”

So when we are asked how to begin having this conversation, our answer is always simple and the same. Stop and smell the flowers, trees, air, and sun. Terpenes are all around us, and arming ourselves with the education to heal ourselves, our families, and our world is priceless, so why not open this up for discussion?

Here are a few fun facts to begin your conversations with:

  • Fun fact #1 cannabis/hemp is THE plant that emits the MOST terpenes on the planet aside from the boreal forests and phytoplankton (pls read "Cannabis for climate change" by Paul Von Hartman)

  • Fun Fact #2 Cannabis/hemp is the best natural resource that can provide complete nutrition, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, textiles, gasoline, and many other industrial uses compared with most other plants.

  • Fun Fact #3 cannabis/hemp is a sacrament. If you say "amen" or any rendering at the end of your prayer, you pay direct homage to the church that uses cannabis as a sacrament. More on that later.

Before we allow one molecule to affect our perspective on a plant that has vast capabilities for our human existence continue to be stigmatized because of some scary stories we've been told about only THC.
